This lab is out of date, it seems that App Engine does not support Java 11 anymore. I managed to fix it by using a newer version of the app engine maven plugin and switching the java runtime version in the yaml file, but would be nice if it was prepared beforehand.

For the java11, please change it to java21, and then change plugin version from 2.2.0 to 2.8.3
