I did what it said, but I don't understand WHY what I did worked. Some more explanation on what is going on "behind the scenes" would be awesome.

from the download index.html step onward, it wasn't great - I repeated 3 times and couldn't get the index api to connect, then the bucket resource policy wouldn't save - 'invalid resource' even though I copy-pasted the bucket name, and did that again 3 times. Good to know generally how this works though.
