The lab has some incorrect steps and does not show the entire flow working end to end. We are setting up a Cloudwatch alarm to publish to SNS, and SNS to trigger an email and a Lambda that publishes to Slack. Then at the end of the lab we are told to send a test event to the lambda and expect it to email us and post to Slack. This won't happen of course because the lambda is only publishing to Slack and not SNS, and thus no email will be sent. The Cloudwatch and SNS parts we set up are never actually invoked. What we should be doing is (somehow) triggering the Cloudwatch alarm so we can see everything we set up work end to end.
