It was pretty cool, and responding to an ec2 instance launch event is actually perfect timing where I am currently using aws lambdas to monitor ec2 instances that come up as bad/unstable for my current project I am engaged on, super useful for this purpose (e.g. when the edge cannot reach the new instance and thus spews 5xxs as a result kind of troubleshooting/monkey business). The cloudwatch events should have been configured by function name, not for all lambdas in the aws account, since, in a corporate environment such as mine, there are hundreds of lambdas and this alarm would not be useful. By limiting the alarm to this specific web site check lambda failing however, is useful, regardless of the aws account one finds themselves in.

Nice Lab with proper steps to follow, every thing works fine, I had a lot of time to try different lambda custom function and play with SNS and CloudWatch
