I was not able to establish a connection to the EC2 instances. I checked the console and they were running fine. Also, the Load Balancer did not successfully connect to each of the EC2 instances.

Load balancer didn't quite work, maybe because the PHP script was wrong, but a good intro to the steps. Quiklabs: really need to fix the way the command texts are copied.
