I successfully completed the lab. However, I encountered an issue with the Grafana version provided by the lab (7.5.9). In modern browsers, the PromQL editor incorrectly included the placeholder text as part of the query, resulting in parsing errors (including unexpected \ufeff characters), even for simple queries such as up. After upgrading Grafana to version 8.5.27, the query editor worked correctly and the issue was resolved. It would be helpful to update the lab to use a newer Grafana version to avoid this compatibility problem for future learners.
