Not finished in time, because the Cloud Shell said, I had no valid credentials. Only closing and reopening it worked for the gcloud compute zones command. It cost some minutes to get this done.

ssh from vm2 to vm1 did not work, had to work around it by opening a direct ssh session to vm1
