Even given that this was an introductory lab, it could have been made a bit more interesting with a load balancer and private VMs.

I think that there is a bug in this lab as ssh'ing from vm-2 to vm-1 is not permitted. AFAIK In order to have it work one would have to create a ssh rule for the firewall.
