If it's mongo related lab you should at least initiate rs on all 3 'nodes' From the lab it's absolutely unclear how those 3 pods relate to mongo cluster, but rather look like a bunch of 'independent' instances.

One of my favourite labs so far because it provides a lot of insights into the inner workings of Kubernetes. You should definitely also read the Kubernetes documentation about Stateful Sets, Storage etc. that the lab docs mention and link to! One caveat: The documentation mentions two different versions of the mongo-k8s-sidecar repo; this should probably be checked and corrected: - https://github.com/thesandlord/mongo-k8s-sidecar - https://github.com/cvallance/mongo-k8s-sidecar The former is an outdated fork that is used in the lab, the latter is the original repo and seems to be more up-to-date, but is only linked to in the documentation.
