I got a little excited, used dig before registering the DNS A record. Seemed my home router decided to cache the negative result. Meant trying to hit the EC2 instance in chrome would fail with no such host. Along the way I learned how to change DNS on os x and that you need the Host HTTP header for S3 to serve up the static site. Eg "curl -v -H "Host: www.route53-labs-11.com" 52.216.65.74". Trying to compress all that detail into the instructions would be quite a diversion though. Thanks for the great quality labs.
