OK, but a little more background into "why" we are selecting lambda settings when creating a function vs blindly following the lab would have been welcome.

Nice basic intro; the part that made this lab valuable was the people floating around who intimately knew Javascript and Lambda, and could answer my questions with detailed how's and why's.

I would have rather the IAM role step and VPC for accessing other AWS resources weren't handwaved away, but this is a pretty simple lab.
