It didn't work. My Twitter public feed never came into the DDB table. Went back to check what I'd done wrong and could not find the mistake.

The streaming app does not grey out messages even when it exceeds the write limit in DynamoDB. (Tested in Chrome and Firefox) The node streamer also crashed at one point, probably based on some UTF-8 content it didn't like from someones tweet. The is no apparent benefit to clicking the sign in for twitter, as the public feed is available without clicking the signin button. The AWS tools on the instance are extremely out of date, as it's a 2013 based AMI, and it does not have IAM roles to allow aws dynamodb commands to be run once they are updated, to do things like explore dynamodb from the command line, and to count the number of records, which is relevant when looking at how quickly data is being inserted.
