CloudFront deployment took about 20 minutes instead of the indicated 15 minutes.

after all the instructions have been completed and double checked twice, and the distribution was deployed, the cloudfront url when used keeps switching back to the ec2 url so I couldn't effectively test the gif redirect or the error page redirect. Understand the underlying concept and completed all instructions so marking lab complete.
