This lab was great. The tasks were good as always, and unlike other labs it actually explained a majority of the concepts we were dealing with. The summary is especially nice.

While the lab works, there is no before/after experience, so I have no idea if CloudFront ACTUALLY accelerated my traffic or not. I'll take it on good faith, but it's not very convincing. Additionally, using Bitnami reinforces anti-patterns since even the user login is over HTTP (without forced HTTPS redirects.) The admin page requires HTTPS at least. Surely there are better options to highlight the reduced latency by using CloudFront that do NOT reinforce anti-patterns in this way.

I was logged previously to the domain change & distro deployment. My guess is the user was registered as logged in by the bulletin board, but the cookie was with the old domain name... too bad the EC2 instances were off-limit! I will confirm this later (fortunately, I have a monthly subscription). Anyhow, nice workshop.
