It was more of how you can use RDS as a drop in replacement for your application as opposed to actually learning anything about Amazon RDS in an application. I dunno, seems like a sort of misleading title. I also would not consider this "advanced."

The instructions in this lab do not match the interface. I was able to figure out the settings to create the new database well enough, but I got an error when trying to create the database: User: arn:aws:sts::498694520758:federated-user/njbuck is not authorized to perform: iam:CreateRole on resource: arn:aws:iam::498694520758:role/rds-monitoring-role. I contacted support and they suggested logging out and back in, which I tried, but I still received the same error. Couldn't go any further after that.
