Launching and Managing a Web Application with AWS CloudFormation Reviews

Lab's not working! the cloudformation-templates only have instance-types that arent available anymore: AllowedValues : [ t1.micro,m1.small,m1.medium,m1.large,m1.xlarge,m2.xlarge,m2.2xlarge,m2.4xlarge,c1.medium,c1.xlarge,cc1.4xlarge,cc2.8xlarge,cg1.4xlarge] Note: this was manageble by editing the templates and uploading them. Also, the awsstudent doesnt have permission to create IAM-users: CREATE_FAILED AWS::IAM::User WebServerUser API: iam:CreateUser User: arn:aws:iam::662862936267:user/awsstudent is not authorized to perform: iam:CreateUser on resource: arn:aws:iam::662862936267:user/Lab-3-WebServerUser-1DBLFJ1A1U9HT

The WebApplication deployment did not work. According to the log, awsstudent, is not authorized to create IAM user.

awsstudent user doesn't have permissions to create IAM resources. Hence, the stack creation process errors out.

The web app labs (2nd half) failed because of an error such as 13:40:36 UTC+0100 CREATE_FAILED AWS::EC2::SecurityGroup WebServerSecurityGroup Resource creation cancelled 13:40:21 UTC+0100 CREATE_FAILED AWS::IAM::User WebServerUser API: iam:CreateUser User: arn:aws:iam::395335861528:user/awsstudent is not authorized to perform: iam:CreateUser on resource: arn:aws:iam::395335861528:user/Lab-3-2-WebServerUser-19UQ4Z5JPX6X5 Also, the text in the instructions do not correspond to the "Create New Stack" web UI, i.e. you now need to specify the template and then on the next page enter the name of the lab.
