There are a number of minor errors. Firstly, not necessary to add ";" at end of every Linux command - only needed when entering multiple linux commands on same line (otherwise, type each linux cmd on its own line). Additionally the cron editing was wrong - no need for sudo. This would work better - intend is to save any existing cron entries - although none actually in this excercise: crontab -l >> $HOME/ec2cron-config.txt echo “* * * * * …” >> $HOME/ec2cron-config.txt
