instructions need to be rewritten. incorrect and confusing. connecting to EMR with Putty. User name is not specified in instruction. Some of the Hive commands especially creating table for OUTPOUT bucket does not work

One typo: "s3n://" - it should be "s3://" second type: "bin/hive" - it should be changed to "/usr/bin/hive" Needs changes for EMR 5.3.1 Need to give hive permission to hdfs using two commands. sudo -u hdfs hdfs dfs -mkdir /user/ec2-user sudo -u hdfs hdfs dfs -chown -R ec2-user:hdfs /user/ec2-user

The EMR they recommend is so old it doesn't work anymore. The Ganglia packages aren't available during install and it won't bootstrap. I was able to get it working with the latest EMR release but some things didn't work as expected. Needs a refresh!
