Some diagrams explaining the dataset format and how they are being transformed would help, rather than trying to reverse engineer the SQL commands.

It was very good. Ultimately I'd like to be able to have one exercise that compares Hive performance to that of a RDMS to highlight the different strengths and weaknesses of the two. Although I am aware that this is really just an introduction to the tool.
