For whatever reason, the CloudFront failed on the first instance of my trying to "use the defaults". Files were not being cached and it was always forwarding on to the origin S3 bucket. I updated the default TTLs for the cache to all be 24 hours and it stopped redirecting to the backing S3 bucket. In true AWS fashion, I ran through the same steps and it worked the second time around. This lab has a lot of sitting and waiting, which, in this case, makes for a very slow lab if you are waiting for things to finish (in my case, I waited for over 30 minutes waiting for AWS). It would be helpful if we could do multiple labs at once to combat the waiting phase...

Description of AWS Console pages is not consistent with actual Console pages. The tutorial should be reviewed for accuracy. Also, the default Cache settings do not behave as documented: deleting the top-level html file was immediately seen as deleted when accessed from both the S3 url and the CloudFront url.
