While I did make a mistake (misread a step), I was able to go back, identify the mistake and correct it, all within the allotted time for the lab, however my score for the lab does no reflect the correction. This seems to be a flaw, or at best a very poor pedagogical model. If a student is able successfully to identify and correct a mistake, there should be some recognition of this (even if it does not allow for awarding full points).
