server refused the connection from user ec2-user and I could not finish the lab. But I get the full understanding what is it about so it is OK.

I would give it 5 but my index.php page never came up. I double-checked everything, and already know how to do most of this (just didn't realize the Elastic IP part). I checked the rules, SSH and HTTP were allowed. The browser just kept reporting connection refused. I even chmod the index.php to 644 (it was already there) and 755, but still did not load. I tried loading it before the Elastic IP, as well as after, using both IP address and DNS name. Still would not load. Maybe I did not wait for long enough? But it should have been fairly instant.

Navigating the instructions was horrible. Maybe it was because the laptop screen is not very tall, but the dual scroll-bars, the pop-over box when you log in really didn't make life easy. The point where you have to enter a host name for putty (ec2-user@ + copied info) was confusing to me at first.

Not much different than the free lab intro.
