I missed comment about not choosing Amazon Linux V2 - It would be nice to explain why user data does not work with v2. I am guessing that is the problem, but I am researching it after the lab.

Lab might be outdated. Got an error message on Step 10, as follows: Unable to create the resource. Verify that you have permission to create service linked role. Worked exactly as expected on the third try. This is helpful as I use this lab to memorize the steps needed to setup and configure a VPC.

Loved it, learned how VPC subnets are created and how to create subnet groups in RDS and then launch instances in them. Couple areas for improvement: in the VPC console, when you create a console, it gives you choices of VPC with one public subnet, a public and private subnet, public and private with VPN, just private with VPN..... there is NOT a choice for empty AND there is no mention of this wizard like starting point. It was kinda tricky to work around this difference that I assume comes from AWS updates since this lab was created. AWS is now trying to guide your starting point with VPC. Another suggestion: introduce Aurora here, instead of MySQL, and do it multi-az and add a web server in the Public 2 network and add a load balancer to the two web servers.... simulate an outage in the web server and the DB.... I guess this would be a few more credits, maybe there is another lab that does this :)

couldnt move forward after task 9 as there is an error about service link permission. the lab until that point was good

a short explanation at the end of each chapter why i did what i did would be nice. It helps to understand documentation faster

Wish there was a little more explanation on NAT'ing (I know thats a very in depth subject, but maybe some tidbits might be cool)
