"mstc" does not seem to exist on the Windows Server 2008 R2 bastion host (any more?). I tried with Windows Server 2012 and was able to find a remote desktop application (apparently called something else) with that.

I had issues with my remote desktop session from bastion host to the sql server and didn't see a much in the documentation to help
