This lab would be much better if it actually proved that the database instance could be queried by the web server. Also it appears to me that the database instances has visibility of the internet as the route table for the subnet allows outward connection to 0.0.0.0/0 via the IGW. This does not look like good practice, the database instance subnets should have a different routing table which only allow access to the web server.
