It's rather confusing to keep track of which instance and which subnet the explanation is referring to. A simple naming convention would remedy this.

i was not able to connect to the bastion. I assumed when the lesson says use the Computer Name you captured earlier they mean the DNS or public ip

Shouldn't really teach to create the VPC with the wizard because it's a crutch for the AWS exam.
