I know this is introductory, but it was so basic as to serve no purpose. The lab was essentially a list of instructions -- no explanation of why you might do one thing over another, and almost no mention of what dynamodb is or what you might use it for. For example, why would you query instead of scan? How is a partition key different from a sort key? How are these different from indexes on SQL dbs? Since the table has no schema other than the keys, what does the data look like when you add items with different schema? (all examples had the same attributes) I assume that dynamo is usually used to store large quantities of data, and hence, that developers aren't inputting data item-by-item, but no mention of APIs or client libraries used to query dynamo. There was nothing in the lab that couldn't be gleaned from going to the AWS console and button-mashing -- the lab was basically: "press the create table button to create a table". Also, no mention of the video in the written portion -- didn't even notice it existed until I had completed the lab.
