This lab provided a very insightful and hands-on introduction to optimizing query performance using Looker. I particularly appreciated the practical approach, which allowed me to work directly with persistent derived tables (PDTs), incremental updates, and aggregate awareness in a real cloud environment. The step-by-step structure made it easy to follow, even for beginners, while still covering advanced concepts like efficient joins and performance tuning. Creating and testing incremental PDTs and aggregate tables helped me clearly understand how Looker improves query efficiency and reduces database load. The lab also gave valuable exposure to monitoring PDT builds and understanding the difference between development and production environments, which is very useful for real-world applications. Overall, this was a well-designed lab that strengthened both my conceptual understanding and practical skills in data analysis and optimization using Looker. I feel more confident in working with LookML and performance optimization techniques after completing this exercise.
