Even with starting the download multiple times the resulting link would not download Oracle to the VM. The links did not seem to change so it may be that Oracle has changed how the downloads work. The link you now get does not have the AuthParam causing validation to fail for the curl command

Oracle install takes longer than expected and does not give good information regarding install status. If there is an install log that gets information faster then that might be something to suggest users look at. That way they can tell where they are and then gauge if they will be able to complete the lab.
