Cloud shell was not active

In the 4th part, the instructions include: "The first time you use the bq command, it caches your Google Cloud Platform credentials, and then asks you to choose your default project." However, I did not receive a prompt. Instead I set the Project ID as instructed by the Cloud Shell: "To set your Cloud Platform project in this session use “gcloud config set project [PROJECT_ID]”"
