The kubectl run command did not create a deployment. It creates a pod.

Error from the command to expose deployment (kubectl expose deployment nginx --port 80 --type LoadBalancer): Error from server (NotFound): deployments.extensions "nginx" not found On second attempt, I fixed this problem by first creating the deployment with the command: kubectl create deployment nginx --image=nginx:1.10.0
