i burned an hour waiting for a provisioning procedure that i thought was still pending. this may not be related to the specific lab, but i eventually realized that the cloud shell provisioned to me was somehow configured to the completely wrong project. it was only when i closed and re-opened with only a few minutes remaining that it loaded up into the right google cloud project.
