Issues: Command sed -i -e "s/PROJECT_ID/$DEVSHELL_PROJECT_ID/" mydeploy.yaml did not replace the PROJECT_ID placeholder string with my Google Cloud Platform project ID. I had to use the following command instead. sed -i -e "s/PROJECT_ID/qwiklabs-gcp-00-8498bcdf6cac/" mydeploy.yam Could not run gcloud deployment-manager deployments create my-first-depl --config mydeploy.yaml Had to set project manually gcloud config set project qwiklabs-gcp-00-8498bcdf6cac
