1. Examine the quizz application code / This file contains ... NO! This file contains NOTHING YET. Say rather This file should / will contain ... 2. what is pubsub_callback ? Why does it only ack? Where is it called? It is a bit confusing. It becomes less confusing the next step, but maybe explain better what is this callback (it is a function executed each time a message is received by the subscriber. This behavior was not precisely defined in the videos explaining pubsub, as it is high level videos explaining the concepts, not the implementation. However the implementation HAS to be explained somewhere (define what are the inputs and outputs of pubsub's subscribe method for example. Explain that the "callback" is not an URL but a function, which is passed an object of type message (define the message object structure etc) in one world EXPLAIN the implementation of pubsub, instead of letting the student only copy paste code written by others !!! Or at least point out to implementation documentation! How is a programmer supposed to use objects he does not know the attributes, or methodes he does not know the inputs / outputs ??? 3. same with language API. What is it? How does it work? what inputs / outputs? What is the calculation based on? explain / link 4. we're learning pub / sub... what is a database batch? While other LABS might be a bit thin, this one manipulates a lot of concepts, not included in the lesson. However it is nice to realize the full integration of pub sub, I think it would havre been better to leave database where database is learned, and focus on implementation as said earlier... copy paste is not learning. This LAB is too dense to analyse precisely all steps. 5. In spanner, wher is this f**ing QUERY button???? Overview? Import / Export? WTF??? In Instance Menu? Database? Tabvle? Why not displaying data in table, in database, in instance?

The spanner menu options weren't the same as the lab instructions. The spanner page prompted me to start a trial, and config from the instructions wasn't available in the config dropdown. I ended up having to use the gcloud CLI to create the spanner database. Then, towards the end of the lab, the query menu option didn't exist. I had to find my own way of viewing the database table data.
