I'm doing the lab at my own pace, learning the code syntax, digging down what the gcp provided library methods do. The timer is a restrictive thing, and I have to retake the entire lab from scratch. It'd be great if you removed such a restriction, the learning material is great, and doing it a selfpaced and understanding code and try to write by oneself is better, than simply copy-pasting and reading few things that you mentioned in the material.
