While creating the BigQuery sink for VPC Flow Logs export, the sink was created successfully but the required IAM permissions were not automatically granted to the Logging service account for the BigQuery dataset. Because of this, the flow log tables were not getting created in BigQuery until the permissions were manually added. Also, there was some delay in the exported flow logs appearing in BigQuery tables even after generating new traffic from the VM instances. It would be helpful if: 1. The required BigQuery dataset permissions are automatically assigned during sink creation. 2. The lab instructions mention that exported flow log tables may take several minutes to appear in BigQuery after sink creation and traffic generation.
