Cloud shell prompt wasn't available after this command gcloud container clusters create Reopening the cloud shell meant the kubectl credentials were not present anymore. Didn't find a way here to reapply the credentials. Eventually found this command elsewhere to proceed: gcloud container clusters get-credentials "webfrontend" --zone $MY_ZONE
