Well, this was a bit of a hassle: First of all using the same file multiple times, ok. Cloning ~700 MB without using git clone --depth :-| - could improve. Then spinning up a hugh k8s cluster .. takes time and could be better started at the top, while it takes long to be ready - even metrics endpoint does not work after some time :( Therefore Cloud-Run seems to be nice, and maybe this should be the learning ?!
