Google should pay me to do tests and review of those labs! 1. creating ALB - it's not specified should I disable Cloud CDN or not. It's not specified should I disable protection or not. 2. creating stress-test VM - you can't select another US region, because regions are limited in this project. The last step - stress test your LB is not passing. "Check complete. Points earned: O. Message: Please stress test the Application Load Balancer (HTTP)." I've wasted 2 hours of my life to complete this lab! I don't know which hacky ways this lab implements to check whether the stress test passed or not - maybe parses my console or something else - nobody knows, it display nothing! but the the LB was successfully stress-tested (and I may reached some quota with it - since my lab env was destroyed in few minutes after) This is console output - student-02-328467bece6d@stress-test:~$ ab -n 500000 - 1000 http: //$LB IP/ This is ApacheBench, Version 2.3 <$Revision: 1913912 $> Copyright 1996 Adam Twiss, Zeus Technology Ltd, http: / /www. zeustech. net / Licensed to The Apache Software Foundation, http://www.apache.org/ Benchmarking 34.8.215.66 (be patient) Completed 50000 requests Completed 100000 requests Completed 150000 requests Completed 200000 requests Completed 250000 requests Completed 300000 requests Completed 350000 requests Completed 400000 requests Completed 450000 requests Completed 500000 requests Finished 500000 requests Server Software: Server Hostname: Server Port: 34.8.215.66 80 Document Path: Document Length: 134 bytes Concurrency Level: Time taken for tests: Complete requests: Failed requests: (Connect: 0, Receive: 0, Length: 1030, Exceptions: 0) Non-2xx responses Total transferred: HTML transferred: Requests per second: Time per request: Time per request: Transfer rate: 1000 132.008 seconds 500000 1030 498970 148518940 bytes 77884010 bytes 3787.66 [#/sec] (mean) 264.016 [ms] (mean) 0.264 [ms] (mean, across all concurrent requests) 1098.71 [Kbytes/sec] received Connection Times (ms) min mean [+ / -sd] median Connect: Processing: waiting: Total: 0 57 101.4 5 207 165.7 5 154 82.2 6 263 243.1 1 103 103 104 тах 1253 5255 5020 5503 Percentage of the requests served within a certain time (ms) 50% 66% 758 80% 90% 95% 98% 99% 100% 104 107 509 512 733 737 741 744 5503 (longest request) it shows that the stress is completes. But the lab "doesn't sees" it. and my env got terminated - this is really painful experience, I should avoid using google cloud products - they must be the same quality
