This has nothing to do with deployment manager rather just to demonstrate that bdutil can create hadoop cluster !!!

I wish I could give this lab 5 stars, but the IAM for the student account did not have the permissions to allow creating Service Accounts and assign a Role to it. Thus, I had to add "Set Access to API" to the default compute engine service account, and then, I gave to it: Compute Engine: Read Write Storage: Read Write In order to be able to perform this lab. Anyways, it was a good journey! Thank you!

Tricky to get bdutil to work because of UNIQUE_ID and regex. Fails if 1st character is a number or if there is a "." in it. eg: ERROR: (gcloud.compute.instances.create) Could not fetch resource: - Invalid value for field 'resource.name': '3d39e-cluster-m'. Must be a match of regex '(?:[a-z](?:[-a-z0-9]{0,61} [a-z0-9])?)' Also missing a cd .. before nano .bashrc
