Migrate a MySQL Database to Google Cloud SQL: Challenge Lab Reviews

35604 reviews

Weak preparation: initially Wordpress did not work just after Lab started (MySQL issue). Don't know reason but after DB migration it started normally.

The check for vm instance having been authorized to access cloud sql instance is misbehaving! VM is definitely authorized. Cloud SQL DB has it's IP address in the authorized-networks field. The wordpress application works fine, with full access to the db. But the check still fails. Unacceptable Had to do it twice. Second time it did work. To be fair, instead of passing <instance IP> as authorized network, this time I passed CIDR of <instance IP>/32. Although both options work in practice, I don't think the first one satisfies the check
