I was able to finish the lab and it recognized the endgoal worked. An intermediate step could hower not get detected correctly, even the reported error makes no sense: "No matching authorization found. Instance IPs: ["35.193.157.66", "34.67.211.85"] Cloud SQL authorization ranges: ["35.193.157.66","34.67.211.85"]" I created a ticket and got a prompt response with a video showing how to complete the lab. I was missing a /32 in the SQL autorization, which didn't prevent the connection to SQL but was blocking the lab completion. The error message was no help at all.

Instance IPs: ["35.193.157.66", "34.67.211.85"] Cloud SQL authorization ranges: ["35.193.157.66","34.67.211.85"]" I still get got the same error after taking the lab again, wasting another 9 credits. The worst part is, it prevents me from completing the Challenge: GCP Architecture Quest.
