I originally couldn't get credit for "Check that the blog instance is authorized to access Cloud SQL" because I didn't add the /32 to format the IP address in correct CIDR notation. Oddly GCP accepted the address without it and I was authorized even though Qwiklabs didn't.

I couldn't get credit for "Check that the blog instance is authorized to access Cloud SQL" despite the fact that I entered the IP ranges under "connections" in the SQL instance details AND the fact that I was able to connect to SQL via the blog instance.
