Lost most of my time due to 2 things 1. When whitelisting the Instance ip on SQL server i used "/24" instead of "/32" for CIDR notation and it kept on erroring out 2. “Migration from MySQL to Cloud SQL in the documentation of Google Cloud Solutions mentions two ways to migrate the database, namely, (a) Export/import approach or (b) External replica promotion approach. I tried the 2nd approach which ended up wasting all my time .Instructions mentioned to take the dump and i missed it :)
