The check for compute instance named "vm-securehost" failed even though it is clearly set up and I can connect to it via RDP.

No indication of where to get the Windows 2016 image in the tasks. Instructions on bastion network setup are misleading - public IP should be on the default network not the secure vpc for rdp access to work.

Using a pixel book, windows experience was sooo bad... Same lab with two linux boxes would have taken me about 5 minutes while I spent twice that time just to connect to my windows box... I also don't get the point of setting virtual machines with network interfaces in both networks. From my PoW, bastion should have interface in securenetwork and default while securevm should only have an interface in default network.
