Had to contact support via chat. The lab is very faulty, was able to get through it because of the instructions by the support. For example, the instructions never mention cluster needs to be created on zone us-central1-b. Had to recreate the cluster with this setting- if I didn't contact support I would've ran out of time and wouldn't have been able to complete Task 1.
