I ran into the bug where you can't select the Datastore region, but the workaround here using App Engine worked: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/51993863/unable-to-retrieve-database-locations-error-when-setting-up-google-cloud-datas/52015708 The lab is out of date in that it does not include the selection between Datastore, Firestore datastore mode, and Firestore native mode. I really don't like that you can't have multiple types per project or migrate between them!
