The lab instructions were generally clear, but I encountered two serious issues with the lab environment. First, I received a warning that I was straying from the lab instructions even though I was only following the methods taught in the previous labs in the same course. This appears to be a false warning caused by the environment or validation system not being configured consistently. Second, the provided orca-jumphost was inaccessible. Both Cloud Shell SSH and SSH-in-browser failed with Permission denied (publickey). The built-in troubleshooting reported no user permission, VPC, or VM boot issues. I successfully completed the earlier tasks but could not finish the final deployment because the provided jumphost could not be accessed. Since the lab warns users against performing actions outside the instructions, I did not modify SSH metadata, IAM, firewall rules, or the VM. Please review both the jumphost configuration and the system generating false “straying from instructions” warnings, as these issues can prevent users from completing the lab even when they are following the intended process.
