the lab didn't demo the load balancing was actually happening as the test page didn't change when refreshing it. One way to show it more clearly is to do this: ssh login one instance, sudo tail -f /var/log/httpd/access_log ssh login another instance, sudo tail -f /var/log/httpd/access_log arrange the two session screens in such a way that user can watch both at the same time While watching, refesh the load balance test page, user sees access logs in two servers recording access activities on one server and then on another, but not always on one server only, and not on both servers at the same time, which indicates load balancing is at work
