There was an additional step in the Amazon GUI not mentioned in the lab which cost me a lot of time again - Step 2 with Blue/Green Configuration.

Guide is missing steps and significantly different than the AWS setup pages for Code Deploy

Your steps are wrong. Step 10 says to skip the Instance Settings page. In order to do this, I had to select the "In-place deployment". Your instructions make no mention of that. Then after skipping, you get a "Proceed to Step 4" button instead of a 3.

Doesn't help learn how to configure a deployment, just how to click buttons...

The steps need changing slightly because there's now the Blue/Green deployment option and you need to select the other option instead.
